EVALUATION AND MONITORING In order to ensure continuous growth in the utilization and integration of technology in the East Greenwich Schools, a system must be in place to monitor and evaluate the process. The district technology committee will obtain feedback and data on the implementation and use of technology. Additional new reporting requirements from the Rhode Island Department of Education provide us with new digital tools to measure technology integration. These new requirements are: Reporting Requirement Details from RI Department of Education
("Office of Instruction" RI Department of Education.) Data derived from the Personnel Skilled in Technology assessment and the Integrated Technology Status will measure the current state of personal computer use, instructional practices, and authentic classroom technology use. These tools will provide us with hard data to help develop professional development programs and to determine technology needs as we review our district technology plan each year.We will also introduce the Technology Integration Matrix from Florida’s Center for Instructional Technology to teachers as recommended by the Rhode Island Department of Education. The Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) was developed to help guide the complex task of evaluating technology integration in the classroom. We will utilize it as a model to help move technology usage in our schools from entry level to transformation level. The model will assist teachers in determining where individual projects, units and lessons fall within the matrix and can help guide our future directions. (Technology Integration Matrix, Florida Center for Instructional Technology) This information will be incorporated into the District Strategic Plan as part of a three year review cycle. This technology plan will be reviewed annually. |
